Middle Eastern menu @ The Resort Cafe, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa

Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa's PR department recently invited the media to sample their newly launched 'Treasures of the Middle East" ala carte menu at the Resort Cafe. Yours truly was of course one of the lucky ones to receive an invitation.

The new menu is spear headed by Jordanian Chef Ala'a Ali Ansawi who has more than 20 years of culinary experience.

The table was set up with an assortment of Mezzeh - a variety of small dishes which are served at the beginning of large meals.

This Saudi Chicken Kabsa is supposedly one of the chef's specialities. Unfortunately the chicken served in this briyani styled rice is quite dry.. The pieces were quite large too.. Not so ideal if you want a smaller serving.

In comparison, the chicken served in this dish was much juicier. The portions were smaller too.

Curry puffs, spring rolls and Jordanian falafel (center).

This whole roast lamb was done just right though. I LOVE it. Best dish of the evening.

Fish Harra - Basically deep fried fish with tomato gravy.

Unfortunately for most hotels nowadays, the Japanese section is relegated to a simple plate of sashimi.

The items in the ala carte menu range from RM21 - RM188.

The buffet is RM138 including service tax and GST.
