HOMEDEC 2014 Part 2

Photographs are straight out of camera JPEGs shot with a Canon 5D mark III and f/2.8 L lenses. For blog purposes, I used the M file size setting instead of the native 22 MP file size.

Outside Hall 2, there's another exhibition - the MIID Nippon Paints REKA Awards 2014 for design excellence.

"The Rooms at Design Street" received an overwhelming response from HOMEDEC Part 1 visitors last week. To recap what they're about, they consist of four life-sized rooms decorated in different themes (Industrial Chic, Tropical Indochine, Modern Classic and BoHo Chic) by designers Ooi Boon Seong, Bill Keith, Eddie Ng and Astley Ng respectively.

For Part 2, the lights in Hall 5 were turned off to simulate a night ambience for "The Rooms"

Bill Keith remodeled his space so that the sofas greet you as you enter the main door instead of the bed.

Other exhibitors

Bill Keith had his own booth which showcases custom designed furnitures which are handmade and unique.

Bill is keen to say - You do not need my furniture, but you want to have it.

Sealy mattresses are one of the sponsors for HOMEDEC Part 2. According to their Country Manager Derek Yeoh, their Posturepedic premium collection mattress feature innovative titanium alloy coils for superior comfort and durability for discerning home owners.

Another innovative product at the exhibition is the Grayns Rice Cooker, which is the first and only rice cooker in the world that removes excess starch (sugar) out of the rice. Hence this rice cooker is highly recommended for blood sugar and weight management. You can find this rice cooker at Hall 1.

The excess starch is deposited in a  trough located at the bottom of the cooker, and is removable for easy cleaning. Do note that even with the excess starch removed, the rice still tastes as good as before. I tried some nasi lemak from this cooker, and it tastes great ;)

Due to the huge publicity involved, there was actually a large turn out despite it being on a Thursday.

Want something different to display your family portraits? Canvas prints are in vogue now.
