A desire for greatness

The school band had a private full dress rehearsal session for the students' families and band supporters. It was held in the evening because they ''reasoned'' it will be less hot for the students, but the thick uniforms nullified that fact, obviously.

In line with the school's motto, they start with prayers...

Whoops.. I never knew the band took in girls as members. Form Six-ers should stay in class and concentrate on their STPM instead... just kidding XD

You could feel the tension and excitement in the air before the performance began.

All of them had a very firm, determined look in their eyes

It didn't matter if they played the trumpet...

...the tuba...

... the horn...

...flute...

...multi-toms...

...crashed the cymbals...

...clarinet...

or twirled a fancy flag.

Everyone who joins the school band, irrespective of their personal reasons, must have a desire to succeed. If not, they shouldn't join it in the first place.

This desire will drive us to do our utmost, to torture our bodies and minds to withstand hundreds of hours of practice sessions under the hot sun..

To the common person, what we do as band members is utter madness (at least , in my time)...

...but in the eyes of a band member, its all worth it...

May God be with them for this year's national level band competition.

Ora Et Labora.
