Right after watching my school band practise, I dropped by the large buddhist temple opposite Chonglin park to take some shots of Wesak Day. That temple has an elegant porcelain white statue of buddha which can be seen all around the neighbourhood.
Devoutees soak joss sticks in oil and then light them up with candles.
This gentleman has a really intense expression on his face which is best reproduced in black and white.
Various food is offered here to appease the gods.
The air in the temple is heavily laden with the smell of burning joss sticks.
It is simply pleasing to see families get together to perform typical religious rites at the temple during this wonderful occasion.
